In India, there is a definite restriction that without obtaining the IEC No. any individuals and companies are permitted for the import or Export of Goods and services. Documents for the appliance for the Importer Exporter Code (IEC), sent to the joint Director General -Foreign Trade, contain:
- Application in Duplicate.
- Copy of Tax ID allotment.
- Bank's Certificate about the agreeable account maintenance and the same should include the signatures, Name and designation of the Banker issuing the certificate and the representative stamp of the bank should be affixed on to the certificate.
- 2 photos of the Director prefer the application has to be certified by the Banker's along with Name and designation of the Banker verify the take pictures of and the official stamp of the bank should be affixed on to the application form.
- Fee of INR 1000.
- Attested copy of the Memorandum and Articles of involvement of the Company in Duplicate.
- Authority Letter with snap and the signatures of the person certified to submit the application to be attested by the director authorized by the company to file an application for IEC Code No.
- Certified true copy of a enter resolution authorizing the referred person to sign the application on behalf of the company, and the signatures of the person certified should also be there on the Board resolution along with the signatures of the person certifying the board resolution.
- List of Director's all along with a copy of passport.
- Self Addressed Envelope.
- Proof of the Address of the registered office of the company, and in the crate the company has a number of units then address proof of all the units has to be also submitted at the time of filing of the application form
Definition: A 10 digit code, which is issued to the companies by the Director universal of Foreign Trade, Government of India, Ministry of Commerce. It is mandatory for any entity or individual to carry on with the export and import business.
Full form: - It stands for Importer Exporter Code.
IEC Code Number Notification: The Importer Exporter Code Number is issued by the policy spherical no.15 which in turn is issued by the DGFT.
Eligibility:The whole list of eligibility criteria, conditions and legal necessities to avail the IEC code is found in Foreign Trade Rules, Notification No. GSR 791 (E), dated 30-12-1993 issued by the Ministry of business in 1993.
